Legislative Update - DFL Affordability Agenda

Friday, March 6, 2026

Dear Neighbors,

Week three of session was just as eventful and busy as the first two! While I didn’t have any bill presentations this week, I was busy meeting with constituents and planning for more bills to come up next week. My colleagues and I also spent a lot of this week focused on affordability. With gas prices back on the rise due to international conflict, it’s more important than ever for us to explore options we have at the state level to make life more affordable for Minnesotans.  Let’s get into it.

DFL Affordability Agenda - Helping Make Ends Meet

  • In the House, I’m working with my DFL colleagues to deliver on a package of bills designed to make day-to-day living a bit more affordable. We recently held a press conference to cover the actions we are taking.
  • Affordable housing, child care, health care, you name it, we have a plan to bring costs down for you and your family.
  • Too often the playing field is slanted toward giant corporations and billionaires. I will work to reverse that trend by passing legislation that directly improves your quality of life by making sure hard work means you can actually get ahead.

Constituent Meetings - Listening to You

  • This week included meetings with constituents to discuss nursing, physical therapy, cancer screening, and more. Aside from working on bills that improve our community, meeting with constituents is my top priority!
  • I also met with Anoka County Commissioners to talk about how the state and the county can work together to deliver for Anoka County residents.
  • Below is a picture of the wonderful group of nurses I met with this week. They do so much for so many of us! I’m always happy to hear how we can better support their critical work at the Capitol.

Town Hall Recap - Thanks for Coming

  • I want to thank everyone who came out to my town hall this week!
  • I presented everything we are working on at the House with a particular focus on what actions we are taking on fraud and responding to the impact of federal immigration enforcement on our state.
  • It’s always a pleasure to spend time with the community. If you weren’t able to make it I hope you can stop by next time!
