Dear neighbors,

I hope you are finding time to enjoy the recent warmer days.

There are about four weeks remaining in the 2026 Legislative Session and if it hasn’t yet, it will soon become clear where every member of the House stands on the biggest issues facing Minnesota.

I will continue to push for:

  • Protecting our kids and ensuring that they don’t have to live in fear of violence
  • Meaningfully addressing affordability
  • Taking real steps to address fraud, not just things that work well as talking points
  • Protecting our environment and water for us, our kids, and grandkids
  • Making sure Minnesota is the best place to live and raise a family.

Meeting with Constituents

My favorite part of this job is meeting all the passionate advocates in our community. Recently, I’ve had many great constituent meetings. Just to name a few, I connected with Wildland Firefighters and forestry techs who prevent and fight Minnesota wildfires. I also met with members of the American Heart Association.

There is nothing more powerful than hearing directly from local leaders as they testify on legislation or meet with me to share the real impacts of proposed policies on our community. We receive requests and feedback on bills continuously; thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. It is helpful for me to understand a wide variety of perspectives on different issues as I work to make decisions. I’d love to gather additional feedback. Please take a quick moment to complete this constituent survey. Thank you.

Free Park Day

On April 25th, it’s Free Parks and Trails Day in Minnesota. Four times a year Minnesota state parks offer free entrance, waiving the need for a $7 vehicle permit. It’s a great way to revisit our local gems or explore a new part of the state. You can use the parkfinder here to plan your next trip.

Protecting the Boundary Waters

A core tenant of my involvement is protecting the environment and water. Last week, we received the terrible news that the United States Senate majority voted to end the ban on mining in the Boundary Waters.

The Boundary Waters are essential to Minnesota life. It’s the most visited wilderness area in the country. Each year, more than 160,000 Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, church groups, and students from middle school through college experience it firsthand.

Minnesota’s $13 billion outdoor recreation economy depends on places like the Boundary Waters. In Northeastern Minnesota alone, nearly $1 billion in economic activity is tied to it, driven largely by small, local businesses that help people access and experience the wilderness.

I’m committed to doing everything I can at the state level to protect it. We won’t give up.

Fraud Prevention

Collaboration on how to best prevent fraudsters from stealing from our state and how to hold them accountable continues. I will continue to advocate for bipartisan efforts, such as the Office of Inspector General, these last few weeks of session. It is a top priority to deliver a better solution for Minnesota.
