Minnesota House Approves Rehrauer Veterans Bill

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Today, the Minnesota House passed HF3467 authored by Rep. Kari Rehrauer (DFL – Coon Rapids). The bill will allow the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs to more easily collaborate with other organizations that support our state’s veterans. By allowing MDVA to collaborate with other organizations in a meaningful way, Minnesota will be better positioned to manage issues related to food insecurity, homelessness, and suicide prevention. The bill passed unanimously.

Rep. Kari Rehrauer issued the following statement on the bill’s passage:

“Minnesotans are facing a severe affordability crisis, and many veterans are being hit especially hard. No one who served our country should struggle to put food on the table or a roof over their head. By allowing the MDVA to collaborate with local partners, more of Minnesota’s veterans will be able to access services they need and deserve.”

Once law, the MDVA will be required to report on any collaboration that occurs as a result of this bill to legislative leaders on House and Senate Veterans Committees. The bill awaits action in the Senate.
