REP. DAVIDS SEEKS WAYS TO FUND EMS FACILITY IN CALEDONIA
ST. PAUL – State Representative Greg Davids (R-Preston) said the City of Caledonia is seeking funds to create a new ambulance and fire hall facility, a project he fully supports.
The problem: where will the money come from?
“It’s often suggested to use bonding proceeds for projects like this, but capital investment bills are supposed to be for projects of regional, not community, significance,” Davids said.
Davids said he is looking for creative funding ideas as to help Caledonia with this need. As a former EMS Legislator of the Year and author of the EMS pension plan, the topic is one Davids wants completed quickly.
“No one is questioning the need for a new facility in Caledonia or if the project is worthwhile, because it very clearly is,” Davids said. “We just need to find a funding mechanism to make this happen.”
