Statement from Rep. Dean Urdahl re: state economic forecast

Wednesday, February 28, 2018

ST. PAUL – Minnesota Management and Budget on Wednesday issued the state’s February economic forecast and it indicates a $329 million revenue surplus for the biennium ending in June of 2019. That reflects a $517 million improvement on the bottom line since the November forecast. Below is a statement from Rep. Dean Urdahl, R-Acton Township, in response.

“Our state has a remarkably low unemployment rate, full reserve accounts and continues benefiting from the historic tax cuts we passed last year,” Urdahl said. “These positive economic indicators paint a far brighter picture than the doom and gloom some people were portraying as they tried to criticize the tax relief we enacted last year as too large. The results speak for themselves.”
