SAINT PAUL, MN—Chairman of the Job Growth and Energy Affordability Committee Rep. Pat Garofalo, R-Farmington, issued the following statement regarding the recommendation from the Office of Administrative Hearings Administrative Law Judge Eric Lipman that the Sandpiper Pipeline project be granted a Certificate of Need. "This is a positive step for a project that will create thousands of jobs and reduce the price of energy for Minnesota families," Garofalo said. "But most importantly, this will reduce oil by rail traffic, meaning increased safety in communities across the state. I hope the state can continue to work with Enbridge and other stakeholders on the Sandpiper Pipeline to ensure this project continues to move forward."
