REP. HAMILTON: LEARN MORE ABOUT MINNESOTA’S BIODIESEL REQUIREMENT

Thursday, March 1, 2018

ST. PAUL – State Representative Rod Hamilton (R-Mountain Lake) is encouraging diesel retailers, distributors, fleets, farmers and other interested parties to learn more about Minnesota’s biodiesel requirement at an upcoming area meeting.

The “Be Ready for B20” workshop, sponsored by the Minnesota Soybean and Research Council, will be held in Worthington on March 6 at the Worthington Event Center, 1447 Prairie Drive, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. The goal of the workshops is to help the industry prepare for the change, and understand the benefits of the fuel and how it will impact fuel providers and end users.

“Minnesota’s B20 requirement will go into effect on May 1, so it’s important for stakeholders to learn as much as they can about the change and be ready to move forward,” said Hamilton, who chairs the Minnesota House Agriculture Finance Committee.

According to organizers, topics at the workshop include a history and overview of Minnesota’s law; compliance with the law; diesel and biodiesel basics; best practices for storage handling and use; blending in the spring and fall; and identifying, treating and preventing common diesel issues. Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, the Minnesota Department of Commerce Weights & Measures Division and MEG Corp Fuel Consulting are scheduled to speak.

Hamilton said if you are interested in attending, please RSVP at 952-473-0044 or email jennifer@megcorpmn.com
