St. Paul—Rep. Rick Hansen (DFL – South Saint Paul) will host a Play in the Park event at Garlough Elementary School to show young people and families wallet-friendly ways to enjoy Minnesota’s outdoors. The event will shows kids and families how they can try their hands at camping, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, and archery without the large up upfront cost. The Minnesota DNR created an “I Can” program which provides gear and knowledgeable instructors to show kinds they can climb, camp, bike, fish, and paddle at the state and county parks system. The event will also feature a presentation by Dakota County Parks and the Minnesota DNR on which activities are available at county and state parks.
The event is free and open to the public.
