Rep. Franson Comments on MMB's November Forecast
Saint Paul, MN - Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) released its November budget forecast today, providing a clearer picture of the state’s fiscal outlook. The forecast revealed that state spending continues to outpace revenue, meaning the structural imbalance continues to worsen. The projected deficit in the tails is currently three times what was anticipated at the end of the 2025 legislative session. Rep. Franson issued the following statement:
“After years of Democrat control and poor management, it is clear their unchecked spending is finally catching up with the state budget. Last session, Republicans prevented the deficit from being even larger, but the numbers show how serious this problem has become. Next session we need to keep cutting spending and confront the widespread fraud the Walz administration has allowed to grow so we can bring the budget back into balance. Families across the state cannot continue to absorb rising costs caused by this reckless spending, and the time to act is now."
