Update from Rep. Swedzinski

Thursday, December 20, 2018

Dear Neighbor,

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family from the Swedzinskis. Here’s wishing you a healthy, happy and prosperous 2019.

At the Capitol, housekeeping preparations are taking place as we get closer to the 2019 session starting Jan. 8. A new committee structure has been set and now committee rosters are being assembled. Complete details of those assignments are not yet final, but I have accepted an appointment to serve as the Republican lead on the House’s Energy and Climate Finance and Policy Division.

This is a natural fit for me after having served a pair of two-year terms on the state’s Legislative Energy Commission, which evaluates the energy policies of the state and assesses the impact on the future of the environment and the economy.

Energy issues have long been of interest to me, especially in terms of how policies and goals impact farmers and life in general for those of us in Greater Minnesota. I look forward to serving in this leadership role, where I will be able to advocate for decisions to make energy accessible and affordable for all Minnesotans. As a farmer and lifelong resident of Greater Minnesota, I take these issues very seriously and am grateful for this opportunity to make a difference and work to see the people of District 16A have a voice at the table.

Look for more news from St. Paul soon as we kick off the 2019 session. Until next time, have a safe and happy holiday season. Please be careful out on the roads.

Sincerely,

Chris
