RELEASE: Representative Kresha Sworn in as State Representative

Tuesday, January 3, 2017

SAINT PAUL, MN—Representative Ron Kresha, R-Little Falls, was officially sworn-in for his third term Tuesday as the legislature began the 2017 session.

"We have a tall task this session to fix our healthcare system and deliver overdue tax relief to middle class Minnesotans,” said Kresha. “I’m honored to be back in St. Paul to represent my neighbors in District 9B. I look forward to being a voice for my area and can’t wait to get back to work on important state issues.”

Kresha, who was first elected in 2012, was elected Majority Whip by his peers in December. He will serve as a member of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform, Education Finance, and Health and Human Services Reform Committees, as well as the Subcommittee on Child Care Access and Affordability.

During his first two terms, Kresha was a vocal proponent of broadband expansion in Greater Minnesota, as well as increased funding for nursing homes and long-term care facilities for seniors and the disabled. He has also been a leading advocate for child protection.

Kresha lives in Little Falls with his wife, Wendy and their five children. He is a former school board member, and currently works as the COO of Golden Shovel Agency, an economic development company that manages digital communications for rural cities and counties.
