Monday, October 20, 2014
St. Paul, MN—Rep. Ron Kresha, R-Little Falls, is seeking input on ways to improve child protection services and processes. Kresha is a member of the Governor's Task Force on Child Protection, appointed by Governor Dayton as the lone House Republican to serve on the panel last month. The Task Force is looking at ways to reform and improve child protection processes at the state and county level to ensure the state is adequately handling reports of child abuse in light of the tragic death of tragic death of Eric Dean.

"In an effort to improve our state child protective services, I hope anyone with useful ideas or input will contact my office and share their thoughts and suggestions on how we can improve and better serve at-risk children," Kresha said. "Oftentimes the best ideas at the legislature come from members of the public who have seen firsthand how state services operate, and see opportunities for improvement."

Kresha urged anyone with suggestions to contact his office by emailing rep.ron.kresha@house.mn, ,or by calling 651-296-4247. The first meeting of the Governor's Task Force on Child Protection took place on October 13th in St. Paul. The next Task Force meeting will take place on Wednesday in Duluth. The Task Force will return to St. Paul on Wednesday, November 5th at 4:30PM at the State Office Building.
