What a beautiful weekend it looks to be and I hope you are enjoying some warm sun soon.
I wanted to inform you that this week we finished working on the large budget bills that are so important to ensure we will get our work done on time. This year we are actually three solid weeks ahead of a normal session schedule. All of us are exhausted from the long days but very optimistic about completing our work.
Our bills are still works in progress. After a week-long, Easter/Passover break, we’ll start our "second half of the season". We’ll now start conference committee meetings that match up bills from the House and the Senate so we can start presenting plans to the governor. I have requested to be on a few conference committees and the speaker will have these announcements soon.
I wanted to announce that Senator Andrew Lang and I will be holding a town hall meeting on Saturday, April 22nd in Willmar. A location and time will be announced soon. We want to hear your questions, concerns, and ideas for our area and our state.
I will be traveling next week with my family and returning in time for Easter Sunday. Our most holy of weeks is here and I wish everyone a wonderful Easter/Passover break.
I’m so grateful to serve you,
