Dear Neighbors,
I hope you're enjoying the beautiful summer weather we've been having! I wanted to send out a quick email wishing all of you a very happy Independence Day! I hope you'll have a fun, safe holiday celebrating our nation with your friends and loved ones. It's an amazing time of year, especially here around the lakes. Enjoy!
I also wanted to make sure you're aware of some of the changes to law that are taking effect July 1. Our multi-billion dollar road and bridge plan kicks in, as well as increased funding for schools around the state. Lastly, I just returned from Washington D.C. where I was able to meet with state legislators from around the country. It was great to share ideas how other states are tackling specific issues. Of note, I was pleased to get new insight on combatting the opioid epidemic. There's lots of proposed solutions that I'm learning about in hopes of helping Minnesotans struggling with this disease. I'll keep you posted.
