Dear Neighbors,

Honoring our Mothers

Happy Mother’s Day! I feel so incredibly fortunate to have such a great mom of my own, as well as my wife to help parent our kids when they were growing up. Sunday is a day to honor all that our moms have done for us. To all mothers...Have a great day! And especially to my own mom, Edna, in Aitkin, MN who is one of the most selfless, giving people I’ve ever met, yet asks nothing in return. I love you, Mom; happy Mother’s Day!

Special Weekend

As you know, this weekend marks the start of the fishing season, and we’re honored to host the annual Governor’s Fishing Opener this year on Green Lake. I hope to see everyone tonight at Robbins Island Park in Willmar for food, live music, and fun for the kids. Let’s be sure to give Governor Dayton and my fellow legislators a warm welcome as they come to our area this weekend!

If you’re interested in finding out more of what the weekend has in store, here’s a link to more information.

Opioid Bill Moving Forward

As I’ve written before, I’m working on a package of proposals to combat the opioid epidemic. My bill includes language to help increase children's’ awareness of opioids, helping doctors receive more training on the subject, and providing increased funds to rural treatment centers that have seen a reduction in service. There’s many ways to tackle this issue, I’m putting forth a bill that I truly think can make a difference.

Please Contact Me

We have just over a week left in session, and I hope to hear from you as we’re working hard in St. Paul. Conference committees are meeting, and we’re trying to put together the best bills we can for our state. I’ll continue to keep you posted, and encourage you to reach out with any questions.

Enjoy the weekend and happy Mother’s Day!
