Legislative News from Rep. Peggy Bennett

Friday, January 6, 2023

Hello from the State Capitol!

On Tuesday, I was honored to take the oath of office to serve as state representative for the new Minnesota House District 23A, which includes most of Freeborn County, along with a number of communities in Faribault, Waseca, and Steele counties.

I’m humbled by the opportunity to once again serve the people of southern Minnesota, and I am excited once again to represent your interests.

Minnesota House committee assignments were recently released. I will serve as the Republican Lead on the Education Policy Committee and in addition will serve on the Education Finance Committee and Veterans and Military Affairs Finance and Policy Committee over the next two years.

There are many bills currently being introduced in the Minnesota House (and more bill introductions will be happening all session). I will try to keep you informed about the most noteworthy legislation and highlight these proposals in my upcoming weekly updates, particularly if they are impactful to area residents and the bills are making significant movement in the House.

As always, I want to hear from you regarding your legislative thoughts and concerns. You can contact me by phone at 651-296-8216 or by email at rep.peggy.bennett@house.mn.gov.

Have a good weekend,

Peggy
