RELEASE: Daniels Takes Oath of Office, Announces Committee Assignments for 2023-2024 Legislative Session

Tuesday, January 3, 2023

St. Paul, MN– Minnesota’s 2023 Legislative Session officially began January 3rd as Rep. Brian Daniels, R-Faribault, and 133 other state representatives took the oath of office during a ceremony at the State Capitol in St. Paul.

“I am looking forward to getting back to work, representing the amazing people, families, and communities of House District 19A,” Daniels said. “This year I plan to work hard on returning the state’s $17.5 billion budget surplus back to you, the hardworking taxpayers of Minnesota. As all of us struggle with rising costs and soaring inflation, it is important that we do what we can to help mitigate their impacts on family budgets.”

Most of Rep. Daniels’ work during the first months of session will take place in House committees. For the 2023-2024 legislative biennium, Daniels will serve as the Republican-lead on the Children and Families Finance and Policy Committee. He has also been assigned to the Labor and Industry Finance and Policy Committee.
