![]() ST. PAUL, MN – Representative Jon Koznick (R–Lakeville) was recently named a “Legislator of Distinction” by the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities (CGMC) at their annual Legislative Awards dinner in Bemidji. The honor recognizes Rep. Koznick’s leadership as Chairman of the House Transportation Committee and his strong advocacy on behalf of communities across Greater Minnesota. Throughout the 2025 legislative session, Chair Koznick played a key role in addressing the unintended consequences of the 2023 greenhouse gas emissions law, which threatened to disrupt local infrastructure projects and burden cities with costly mandates. Under his leadership, the House passed a critical delay of the mandate, and Koznick authored several proposals to reduce the law’s negative impact on Minnesotans. While not all reforms made it to the finish line in a divided legislature, his efforts helped secure key concessions and put continued pressure on the administration to revisit flawed policies. “I appreciate the recognition from the Coalition of Cities across Minnesota because it reflects the work we’ve done to push back on costly mandates and make sure transportation policies actually work for local communities," said Koznick. "I’ll continue to push for transportation solutions that Minnesotans actually use and ensure that taxpayer money is spent responsibly. This means better roads and safer bridges, without costly mandates, to keep Minnesotans moving.” The CGMC praised Koznick and other recipients as dedicated public servants who went “above and beyond” to shine a light on local needs and deliver results for Greater Minnesota. |
