Legislative Update (Jan. 13, 2015)

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

Friends,

It is an honor to serve as your voice in the legislature, and I am excited to have been sworn in on Tuesday, January 6th. I am determined to keep Minnesota’s future bright and afford our children opportunities better than those we have enjoyed, just as my parents did when they adopted me from Colombia as a child.

In the new Republican majority, we will have five major priorities that will drive our legislation this session. We are committed to growing good-paying jobs, affording our children a world-class education, protecting the quality of life for our parents and grandparents as they enter long-term care, focusing transportation spending on roads and bridges, and ensuring proper oversight in the MNsure program while allowing your family the ability to make health care decisions that best fit your needs. I look forward to discussing many great proposals put forth and passing solutions that will maintain the American Dream for generations to come.

I am honored to have been appointed to serve on the Taxes, Property Tax and Local Government Finance Division, and Transportation Policy and Finance committees.

If you plan on visiting the Capitol, please contact my Legislative Assistant at (651) 297-4375 to schedule a time to visit my office, see photographs of historic Lakeville, and share your thoughts or concerns on any legislation introduced this session.

I look forward to serving you.

Rep. Jon Koznick
