ST. PAUL, MN— On Tuesday, Speaker Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, named Rep. Jim Nash, R-Waconia, as Vice-Chair of the State Government Finance Committee. The committee will be chaired by Rep. Sarah Anderson, R-Plymouth. Rep. Nash served on the State Government Finance Committee during the 2015-2016 sessions.
“Maintaining a balanced budget for our state government is an important function of this committee, and I look forward to ensuring Minnesotans’ tax dollars are used responsibly,” said Nash. “We can also work for ways to save taxpayers money, as we did last biennium by allowing counties to hire private firms for audits.”
Along with his appointment to the State Government Finance Committee, Nash will also serve on the Commerce and Regulatory Reform, Government Operations and Elections, and Rules and Legislative Administration Committees.
Nash, who was first elected in 2014, will be sworn in for his second term in January when the 2017 legislative session officially begins.
