Nash named Co-Chair of Legislative Commission on Housing Affordability
ST. PAUL, MN — On Tuesday, Representative Jim Nash, R-Waconia, was elected Co-Chair of the Legislative Commission on Housing Affordability a bicameral, bipartisan commission formed in 2019 to address housing affordability in Minnesota. Senator Kari Dziedzic, DFL-Minneapolis, will also serve as Co-Chair. Rep. Nash issued the following statement following the Tuesday meeting of the Commission:
"I am grateful and honored to be elected by my House and Senate colleagues to serve as Co-Chair for the Legislative Commission on Housing Affordability. Few things are more important to long-term financial stability than home ownership and we need to do everything we can to make it a reality for more Minnesotans. But more important than even the financial benefits is the safety and security that comes from having that "North Star" to head towards.
"We have a lot of complex work to do to bring down the cost of homes in Minnesota. It will not be one or two things but dozens of factors that must be addressed to drive down costs and bring the dream of homeownership to more Minnesotans."
