SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Yesterday, Representative Dave Pinto (DFL-St. Paul) was designated as the DFL co-chair of the House Labor and Workforce Development Finance & Policy Committee, with jurisdiction that is currently held by three separate committees. Representative Dave Baker (R-Wilmar) will serve as Republican co-chair.
Representative Pinto released the following statement:
“I'm delighted to co-lead the House's efforts this term with respect to labor, workforce, and economic development. Rep. Baker and I started in the legislature together, and I'm confident that we can craft a budget that works well for our state in these areas. Minnesota has long been a state with both a high quality of life and a strong economy. The investments that we've made in the last two years have built on that history. I look forward to further steps to make our state an even better place to work and live.”
Members of the committee will be designated later but are expected to be equally divided between Democrats and Republicans. A full list of House committee co-chairs for the upcoming biennium can be found here.
Rep. Pinto will be serving his sixth consecutive term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. The 2025 Legislative Session begins on Tuesday, January 14.
