Tuesday, January 3, 2017

ST. PAUL—Minnesota state legislators gathered at the Capitol today for the first day of the 2017 Legislative Session. The 90th session of the state legislature includes 23 new members of the Minnesota House of Representatives who were sworn into office at noon on Tuesday, along with their colleagues, including first-term Representative Andrew Carlson (DFL—Bloomington).

“I am honored to serve the people of Bloomington,” said Rep. Carlson. “Minnesota’s strength has always been and will be its people. I will focus on polices that will build an economy that works for everyone, invests in education, and keeps our communities safe.”

Rep. Carlson will represent most of the City of Bloomington. As a farther of two young daughters in the Bloomington school district Rep. Carlson is focused on doing what is best for Bloomington. He is focused on issues such as expanding educational opportunities, modern transportation infrastructure, economic growth and improving the health care system, among others.

In late December, Speaker Kurt Daudt appointed Rep. Carlson to three committees: Civil Law & Data Practices Policy; the Property Tax & Local Government Finance Division: and Transportation & Regional Governance Policy.

Rep. Carlson encourages constituents to contact him with any comments, questions, concerns, or ideas on any legislative topic. Rep. Carlson can be reached by phone at 651-296-4218 or by email at rep.andrew.carlson@house.mn. Rep.
