Rep. Carlson’s Statement on Repealing Sunday Liquor Sale Prohibition

Monday, February 20, 2017

ST. PAUL-The Minnesota House of Representatives voted to repeal Minnesota’s prohibition on Sunday liquor sales by a vote of 85-45 to allow liquor stores the option to be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays. Representative Andrew Carlson (DFL-Bloomington) released the following statement:

“It is clear support has been building to allow Sunday liquor sales over the years. I am glad to see bipartisan support for repealing the Sunday sale prohibition. As Sunday has become the second most important grocery shopping day of the week this bill will give shoppers more flexibility.”
