ST. PAUL, Minn. – Thursday night the Minnesota House of Representatives debated HF 4099 (Knoblach) the omnibus spending bill which includes a massive cut to the Minnesota Department of Human rights, which investigates discrimination, after the Dar Al-Farooq Center bombing last summer.
Representative Andrew Carlson (DFL-Bloomington) released the following statement:
“The Dar Al-Farooq bombing was a hate crime and unfortunately highlights the hate and prejudices that exist in our world. Now, more than ever, we should be investing in ways to protect Minnesotans from discrimination, not making it easier for injustice to grow and thrive. This is shameful.”
