ST. PAUL, MN – Rep. Barb Haley (R-Red Wing) co-authored a bill (House File 183) that allows for a refundable income tax credit for Minnesotans who work in Wisconsin during years an income tax reciprocity agreement is not reached. The previous tax reciprocity agreement between Minnesota and Wisconsin ended after the 2010 tax year.
“This bill is vital for those who live in our area and work in Wisconsin,” said Rep. Barb Haley (R-Red Wing). “Minnesotans should not be financially penalized by paying more in taxes for working in a neighboring state. I am hopeful for the bill’s inclusion in this year’s tax bill.”
House File 183 is chief-authored by Rep. Greg Davids (R-Preston), chair of the House Taxes Committee.
