SAINT PAUL, MN – Funding to expand Highway 8 in Chisago County is on its way thanks to the efforts of Rep. Anne Neu Brindley, R-North Branch. The House Transportation Bill passed on Wednesday and will provide $8 million in funding for safety improvements and to expand Highway 8 from two lanes to four lanes. The bill was approved in the Minnesota House by a vote of 112 to 21.
“The expansion of Highway 8 is a big win for the safety and economic vitality of our community,” said Rep. Neu Brindley. “Additional lanes will improve traffic time and flow, but most importantly enhance the safety of commuters and truck drivers in Chisago County. Securing this funding has been a top priority of mine, and I am proud to deliver this critical infrastructure for our community.”
