Dear neighbors,

Summer is such a lovely time of year in Minnesota. After the unpredictable weather this winter and spring, it’s so nice to appreciate the warmer temperatures and the variety of recreation options Minnesotans can explore in our beautiful state. I hope you are enjoying your summer!

July 22nd Frontline Worker Bonus Application Deadline

One week remains for frontline workers to apply for a bonus approved by the legislature this year. Money set aside for this program will be split equally among all approved applicants. We can’t fully thank all who put themselves at risk during the pandemic, put this bonus is in appreciation for their work and sacrifice during a challenging time. If you are a frontline worker, please apply if eligible and spread the word to friends and family.

Help for our Hometown Heroes

Last year, the state legislature passed the Hometown Heroes Assistance Program (HHAP), dedicating $4 million per year to ensure every Minnesota firefighter has access to the education, prevention and care needed to handle a cardiac, emotional trauma or cancer diagnosis.

In this short time, the program has impacted firefighters' lives across Minnesota – with free health and wellness resources to protect our hometown heroes and their families. You can learn more about the program here.

Click here to place your order or call 1-800-232-0233 (TTY 1-888-720-7489).  More COVID-19 updates are available through the Minnesota Department of Health website, or the U of M Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP).

Staying Connected to the Legislature

During an election period, legislators cannot use state resources for unsolicited communications because it might create an unfair advantage for incumbents. Next week, I will send my last update until after the election. I am still available to help with the state-level problems and to discuss important issues in our community, so if you have any questions or feedback you’d like to share, you can contact me by email at rep.patty.acomb@house.mn or call (651) 296-9934.

Sincerely,

Patty Acomb
