CEEM announces Clean Energy Legislative Champion Award to Representative Patty Acomb

Monday, December 12, 2022

MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Clean Energy Economy MN (CEEM) presented its 2022 Clean Energy Legislative Champion Award to Representative Patty Acomb (DFL-Minnetonka) on Friday for her chief authorship of HF 3320, a refundable clean energy tax credit bill during the 2022 legislative session and her leadership of the Minnesota House Climate Action Caucus.

“Rep. Acomb is a proven and adept clean energy and climate champion who understands the important nuance between the business and environmental concerns that go into crafting smart policy,” said CEEM Executive Director Gregg Mast. “I’m thrilled to work again with Rep. Acomb in her new role as Chair of the House Climate and Energy Committee to supercharge the expansion of clean energy jobs and innovative solutions that will benefit all Minnesotans.

Acomb, a Minnetonka Democrat recently elected to her third term, has become a well-known leader for Minnesota’s clean energy future. In 2022, she led the Minnesota House Climate Action Caucus’ efforts putting together a $1 billion Climate Action Plan. As the new chair of the House Climate and Energy Committee she’s looking to Governor Walz’s new Climate Action Framework as a source of inspiration to make dramatic decarbonization progress for the state.

“We are living in an exciting time; Minnesota is poised for dramatic decarbonization. I’m looking forward to this opportunity because it means we can make changes to allow all Minnesotans to thrive, and live in a cleaner future, where we have good jobs, clean, affordable and reliable energy and a strong economy statewide,” said Rep. Acomb. “I couldn’t do my work without strong relationships with organizations like CEEM, who bring the business voice to the table and help inform and shape the policies that get made into law.”
