Rep. Tabke’s Bonding Requests included in Governor’s Proposal

Shakopee, Minn. – Governor Tim Walz announced today that he has included two local Shakopee projects championed by Representative Brad Tabke (DFL – Shakopee) in his 2020 Bonding proposal.

The first project would provide funding for construction of a pedestrian bridge over Highway 169, completing a major trail connection between Southbridge and Quarry Lake Park. The second project would stabilize the Minnesota riverbank and build a cultural corridor from highway 101 to Memorial Park. The project is the result of collaboration between the City of Shakopee, Scott County, Three Rivers parks, and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.

I’m proud to announce that for the first time in recent history, local infrastructure projects will be considered for Shakopee in the State’s public works package,” said Rep. Tabke. “If this funding is passed, these projects would improve safety and accessibility, while strengthening Shakopee’s standing as a regional destination.”

Rep. Tabke will continue working to secure inclusion of several other Scott County projects in the final Bonding Bill.
