Nelson Takes Oath of Office, Announces Committee Assignments for 2025-2026 Legislative Session ST. PAUL — Minnesota's 2025 Legislative Session officially began today as Representative Nathan Nelson (R – Hinckley) and 66 other Republican state representatives took the oath of office during a ceremony held at the State Capitol in St. Paul. "This legislative session, my focus will be on the things that matter most to the people of Minnesota—making our state more affordable, safer, and accountable to taxpayers,” said Nelson. “I am committed to fighting for the priorities that will help families, communities, and businesses thrive in Minnesota. From eliminating fraud and waste in government to improving our schools and ensuring that tax dollars are spent wisely, I’m here to work for a stronger future for everyone.” Most of Rep. Nelson’s work during the first months of session will occur in House committees. For the 2025-2026 legislative biennium, Nelson will serve as the Republican Vice Chair on the Children and Families Finance and Policy Committee. He has also been assigned to serve on the Agriculture Finance and Policy Committee, as well as the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee. “I’m ready to get to work with my colleagues to make these priorities a reality,” Nelson added. “Minnesotans deserve a government that is efficient, accountable, and focused on their needs. I’m committed to working around the clock for the people of our district and our state.” Representative Nelson encourages his constituents in District 11B to stay involved and reach out if they have any legislative questions or concerns. He is always ready to listen to those he serves and values their ideas and feedback. Rep. Nelson can be reached at 651-296-0518 or via email at rep.nathan.nelson@house.mn.gov.
