Statement from Rep. Burkel on Democrats’ extreme abortion bill
ST. PAUL — Representative John Burkel, R-Badger, issued the following statement on the passage of Minnesota House Democrats' extreme abortion bill:
"Yesterday, House Democrats passed their extreme abortion bill off the House Floor, which would put Minnesota on par with the abortion laws in countries like China and North Korea. Democrats repeatedly voted down amendments that would put guardrails in place to protect women and girls seeking abortions and to protect the unborn who are subjected to severe pain during abortions. This bill is not about just codifying Roe v. Wade, it is about allowing abortion at any point in pregnancy for any reason, even to the detriment of the health and safety of women and girls."
