Rep. Igo, Range Delegation Urge MPCA to Update Sulfate Standard
St. Paul, MN — The Range Delegation, including Rep. Spencer Igo (R–Wabana Township), sent a letter to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency urging the agency to approve a modern, science-based sulfate standard that protects water quality while supporting the Range’s key industries. The letter reflects the delegation’s united effort to secure a standard that is both environmentally responsible and economically sustainable.
“Our communities deserve a sulfate standard that protects our waters and supports the Range economy. It’s time for the MPCA to use sound science and common sense to get this right,” Rep. Igo said about the issue. “Our Iron Range Community stands united to addressing this issue and not just getting it right for our livelihoods and future, but that of the entire state.”
