St. Paul, MN – Representative Brian Pfarr (R-Le Seuer) issued the following statement regarding the recent confirmation of Avian Influenza in poultry flocks in Minnesota.
“Minnesota’s chickens and turkeys remain safe to consume. In 2015, Minnesota poultry farmers lost 9 million birds. Thankfully, due to research and improved bio-security measures, we do not anticipate such losses again. Today, we have better testing equipment available and we are working with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to better understand this disease. I ask that we all continue to support our Minnesota’s farmers."
