State Representative Leigh Finke takes Oath of Office

St. Paul, MN - This week, State Representative Leigh Finke (DFL - St. Paul) officially took the oath of office for her first term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. 

“I want to thank our community and all the collective individuals who supported me on this journey to the Minnesota House. In taking the oath of office this week, I promise to strive to build a better, more inclusive Minnesota,” said Rep. Finke. “I’m incredibly proud to be the first openly transgender lawmaker in our state, but more than that, I look forward to putting in the work to encourage and enable all Minnesotans to step up and make their voices heard.”

In addition to her roles on the House’s Environment and Natural Resources, Human Services Policy, Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, and Legacy committees, Rep. Finke also serves as the Chair of the Minnesota House’s first Queer Caucus.
