Statement from Rep. Ben Davis on ISIS Violence in Mozambique
ST. PAUL – Following reports of ISIS attacks on Christians in Mozambique, Representative Ben Davis (R–Mission Twp.) issued the following statement:
"The reports coming out of Mozambique are heartbreaking and infuriating. ISIS militants are burning churches, destroying homes, and murdering Christians in cold blood. This is pure evil.
As a Christian, it hits hard to see brothers and sisters in Christ targeted simply because of their faith.
We need to call this what it is: terrorism aimed at wiping out a people and their beliefs. The international community must step up, shine a light on these atrocities, and work to protect those who are being persecuted.
My prayers are with the victims, their families, and the people of Mozambique. May God bring justice to those responsible and comfort to those who are grieving."
