Legislative UpdateFriends and Neighbors, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and that the new year is off to a great start! I feel so fortunate to begin this new legislative session as your state representative, and I want to thank you once again for your trust and support. It's truly an honor to represent our community in Saint Paul. A New Majority and a New Direction As many of you know, the political landscape in the Minnesota House has shifted. Following a residency violation, the Democrats lost one seat, which has given Republicans a narrow majority of 67-66. Unfortunately, instead of working with us to ensure the best outcomes for Minnesota families, the Democrats have made it clear that they’re unwilling to cooperate with the newly formed Republican majority. They’ve decided to refuse to participate in the legislative process, despite still collecting their paychecks. This kind of behavior is deeply disappointing and undermines the trust Minnesotans place in their elected officials. Although this situation is frustrating, I want to assure you that House Republicans are here, ready to work for you. The good news is, that the Democratic trifecta is officially over. No longer will one party have unchecked control. We are ready to bring transparency, accountability, and common-sense solutions back to the Capitol, and I am committed to ensuring that your voice is heard every step of the way. |
