“This session tested us in many ways, but it also reminded me why I’m so honored to serve the people of District 17A and all of Minnesota. Being part of the Human Services, Environment and Natural Resources, and Health Finance and Policy Committees has deepened my understanding of the challenges families face—whether it’s getting access to quality health care, protecting our natural spaces, or ensuring our human services systems truly work for those in need.
I’m proud of the progress we made on these fronts. These aren’t just policy areas to me—they’re about real people, neighbors, and families who deserve to be cared for and supported. That’s what motivates me every day in the Capitol.
Still, it’s hard to accept that we’re heading into a special session. This delay could have been avoided if everyone had shown up ready to do the people’s work from day one. Minnesotans deserve better than gridlock and political games.
But I remain hopeful and determined. The special session gives us a chance to come together and get the job done—to pass a budget that is balanced, responsible, and respectful of taxpayers while delivering the services and support our communities need.
To everyone in District 17A: thank you for trusting me to represent you. Please keep your voices heard, stay engaged, and know I’m fighting every day for the issues that matter most to you.
We’ll get through this together—and I promise to keep you updated every step of the way.”
More information about the special session will be released in the coming days.
