Representative Bidal Duran Supports Operation Not Forgotten and the Fight for Justice for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons
St. Paul, MN — Today, Representative Bidal Duran joined Minnesota leaders at the State Capitol to demonstrate unwavering support for Operation Not Forgotten, a national initiative focused on addressing the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons (MMIP).
“As a law enforcement professional, I understand how critical it is to provide the necessary resources to solve these cases and bring closure to families,” said Representative Duran. “Operation Not Forgotten is an important step, but we must continue to push for sustained action to truly make a difference.”
The press conference highlighted the FBI’s commitment to deploying 60 agents to support investigations into unresolved violent crimes in the Native American community. This initiative, building on the work begun under the Trump administration with the establishment of the first Cold Case Task Force office for MMIP in Bloomington, marks a significant moment in addressing the longstanding crisis.
“Every day that passes without justice for these families is another day too long,” Duran concluded. “We must remain relentless in our efforts to solve these cases and bring healing to the Indigenous communities who have suffered for far too long."
