Representative Duran Responds to Severe Storm Damage in Beltrami County
Bemidji, MN — Representative Bidal Duran issued the following statement in response to the severe storm that swept through Bemidji and Beltrami County:
“Our community was hit hard by a devastating storm that caused significant damage to homes, businesses, and property throughout the region. I’m incredibly grateful to report that there have been no injuries, and I want to thank our first responders and local officials for their quick response to keep everyone safe.
As always, what stands out most is the strength and character of our community. Good neighbors and friends have already stepped up to help each other clear debris, make repairs, and begin the long process of rebuilding. That’s the spirit of northern Minnesota – when the going gets tough, we show up for one another.
My office is in contact with local leaders and state emergency response teams to make sure resources are available and deployed quickly. We’re here to help however we can. If you need assistance or have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.”
The United Way of Bemidji Area has launched a Disaster Relief Fund to support local recovery efforts. If you’d like to contribute, donations can be made at www.unitedwaybemidji.org.
In addition, there will be an Emergency Mobile Food Drop at the Sanford Center Parking Lot on June 27th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (or until food runs out). This food distribution is open to anyone in need following the destructive weather.
