Representative Bidal Duran Issues Statement on the 4th of July
Bemidji, MN — As Minnesotans gather with family and friends this weekend, Representative Bidal Duran is encouraging residents to take a moment to reflect on the meaning of Independence Day.
“This 4th of July marks 249 years since our nation declared its independence,” said Rep. Duran. “It's a time to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy and the country we’re blessed to call home.”
A U.S. Marine and lifelong public servant, Rep. Duran highlighted the personal significance of the holiday.
“As a veteran who’s seen the cost of freedom, Independence Day is more than a holiday. It’s a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who came before us and the responsibility we all share to protect the values they fought for, now and into the future.”
Rep. Duran also urged Minnesotans to honor the day not just with fireworks and festivities, but by remembering the principles that unite us — liberty, service, and community.
“Whether you’re at a parade, cooking out with neighbors, or enjoying time with family, I hope you’ll also take a moment to think about what this day truly means. Let’s stand up for our values, serve our communities, and keep building the kind of future our children and grandchildren can be proud of.”
Rep. Duran wishes everyone in District 2A and across the state a safe and meaningful Fourth of July.
