MINUTES


Representative Joe Atkins, Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:36 P.M. on March 16, 2010, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Davids moved that the minutes of March 11, 2010 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF 3024 (Murdock) Manufactured Home Building Code requirements modified.

Representative Davnie moved the Division Report on HF 3024 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Murdock moved HF 3024.

Representative Murdock moved the H3024A2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The following people testified on HF 3024:

Representative Murdock moved that HF 3024, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Higher Education and Workforce Development Division. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF 3360 (Nelson) Contractor continuing education requirements modified.

Representative Davnie moved HF 3360.

Representative Davnie moved the H3360DE1 amendment.

Representative Davnie moved to modify the H3360DE1 amendment as follows:
Line 8.12, delete "sole". THE AMENDMENT WAS MODIFIED.

Representative Davnie moved the H3360DE1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Atkins moved HF 3122.

Representative Atkins moved the H3122DE3 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Atkins moved the H3122A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 3534 (Laine) Commissioner of commerce required to hold a public hearing before approval of certain rate increases.

Representative Atkins moved HF 3534.

Representative Atkins moved the H3534DE1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hoppe moved to orally amend the H3534DE1 amendment as follows:
Line 1.10, after "Rochester," insert "Marshall, Thief River Falls,". THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
