PUBLIC SAFETY FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES


Representative Kelly Moller, Chair of the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM on March 10, 2023, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Curran moved that the minutes from March 9, 2023, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The Minnesota Department of Corrections gave a budget presentation.

The Minnesota Office of the Ombuds for Corrections gave a budget presentation.

HF 1816 (Wolgamott) The Redemption Project funding provided to assist inmates to transition from incarceration to the community, and money appropriated.

Chair Moller moved to lay over HF 1816.

Chair Moller moved the H1816A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Wolgamott presented HF 1816, as amended.

Chair Moller moved that HF 1134 be re-referred to the Committee on Capital Investment.

Chair Moller moved the H1134DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Hudson moved the H2167A2 amendment, to the H2167DE1 amendment.

Rep. Hudson withdrew the H2167A2 amendment, to the H2167DE1 amendment.

Rep. Novotny moved the H2167A3 amendment, to the H2167DE1 amendment.

Rep. Novotny requested a roll call vote on the H2167A3 amendment, to the H2167DE1 amendment.
