Trainees on two-wheels could motor onto interstates under bill that passes House

Motorcycle permit holders might be able to expand their two-wheeled driving education by driving on the interstate.

HF3997/SF3466*, sponsored by Rep. Jim Nash (R-Waconia) and Sen. Mary Kiffmeyer (R-Big Lake), would allow motorists holding a two-wheeled vehicle instruction permit to operate a motorcycle on the interstate.

The bill was passed 67-0 by the Senate April 19. It now goes to Gov. Mark Dayton for his signature.
