PUBLIC SAFETY FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Kelly Moller, Chair of the Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM on, February 22nd, 2024, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Engen moved that the minutes of February 20th, 2024, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Probation length limit
HF3369 (Long) for attempted crimes established.

Chair Moller moved that HF 3369 be placed on the General Register.

Representative Long presented HF3369.

Representative Novotny moved the HF3369A2 Amendment.

Representative Novotny requested a roll call on the HF3369A2 Amendment.

HF3812 (Acomb) Immunity provided for individuals assisting another to seek medical assistance for drug-related overdose.

Chair Moller moved that HF3812 be re-referred to the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law

Chair Moller moved the HF3812A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE A1 AMENDMENT IS ADOPTED.

HF 3489 (Frazier) School Resource Officers; public safety provided, grounds for use of reasonable force in schools modified, school resource officer duties defined, and minimum training requirements established, school resource officer model policy development required, and money appropriated.

Representative Frazier moved that HF3489 as amended be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Frazier moved to reconsider the HF3489A2 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILS

Representative Frazier withdrew the HF3489 A2 Amendment.

Representative Frazier moved the HF3489A6 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILS. THE AMENDMENT IS ADOPTED.
