Representative Holberg, Chair of the Ways and Means Committee, called the meeting to order at 9:01 A.M. on March 29, 2012, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Abler moved SF 288 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Abeler moved the S0288A6 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Abler moved the S0288A7 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Abeler renewed his motion that SF 288, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2164 (McNamara): Omnibus environment and natural resources bill.

Representative McNamara moved HF 2164 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Greiling moved to orally amend HF 2164, as amended, as follows:

Representative Greiling requested a roll call vote on the oral amendment.

The following twenty three members voted Nay:

Representative McNamara renewed his motion that HF 2164, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1284 (Beard): Omnibus transportation policy bill.

Representative Beard moved HF 1284 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

HF2958 (Holberg): Legislative Advisory Commission membership modified; Legislative Advisory Commission authorized to review federal money spending requests; authority limited; validation of appropriation bonds provided for; apprenticeship established; surcharge eliminated on special veteran's plates; and money appropriated for honor guards, soft body armor, and disaster deficiency.

Representative Holberg moved HF 2958 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Holberg moved the H2958A5 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Carlson moved the H2958A1 Amendment.

Representative Carlson moved to orally amend the H2958A1 Amendment as follows:

Page 1, lines 7, 8, and 9, delete the new language
Page 1, line 11, re-insert the stricken "and"
Page 1, lines 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18, delete the new language

THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE ORAL AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Carlson moved the H2958A1 Amendment, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Downey moved the H2958A6 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Holberg renewed her motion that HF 2958, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2909 (McElfatrick): Minnesota GI Bill program expanded to include apprenticeships and on-the-job training, compensation provided for honor guards at veteran funerals, and money appropriated.

HF 2909 was removed from the table.

Representative Holberg moved HF 2909, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
