Dear Neighbors,

Our May 18th adjournment date is fast approaching. The main thing taking up the bulk of my work in these final weeks is our Capital Investment Bill - a crucial piece of legislation for funding jobs and infrastructure projects in our community and throughout the state.

Even if the House wasn’t tied, work on the Capital Investment Bill is almost always a bipartisan exercise, as it requires a super majority to be passed into law. I’ve been working with leaders on both sides of the aisle in the House and Senate to deliver the investments Minnesotans are counting on this year.

While it may seem like we’re running out of time, the Capital Investment Bill is traditionally one of the last, if not THE final bill passed during the legislative session.

I sat down with MPR recently to talk about the status of our work on the Capital Investment Bill.

MPR Capital Investment

Whether it’s North Minneapolis or Northern Minnesota, passing this bill would be good for our state.

Passing Bills off the House Floor

Yesterday, we passed several bipartisan bills off the House Floor, building off last week’s progress on successful legislation that I covered in my previous newsletter

We passed a bill regulating HOAs. A quarter of Minnesotans live in HOAs, a number that’s certain to grow, with 82% of new homes being part of one. The package of policies we passed provides transparency, best practices, and strong consumer protections concerning HOAs. We also passed a bill banning predictive market wagering and unanimously passed a tenant-landlord relations bill

These are all good bills, but my hope is that this small amount of bipartisan progress will lend itself to even more in these final weeks.

Stay Connected

With only a few weeks left of session, now is a great time to touch base. Please reach out with any questions, comments, or ideas you have on how to make North Minneapolis or Minnesota better. My work is at its best when it’s rooted in your needs.

Additionally, my colleagues and I in the House DFL have put together a constituent survey. If you have a brief moment, I’d really appreciate you taking it to let us know about the issues and values most important to you.

You can take our 2026 Constituent Survey here.

As always, you can reach me at rep.fue.lee@house.mn.gov or 651-296-4262.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Fue Lee

State Representative
