Dear Neighbors,

Robert Street currently ranks among the most deteriorated roads in our metro area. As local residents, we deserve long-overdue infrastructure investments in our own neighborhood where we live and work.

Your input is needed to shape Robert Street's future, and a critical opportunity is approaching.

The City of Saint Paul will hold a public hearing this Wednesday, August 13 at 3:30 p.m. on the final design proposal for Robert Street's reconstruction. This is your opportunity to provide input before the City Council votes on Municipal Consent this fall.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation's proposal includes several community-focused improvements to enhance safety, accessibility, and neighborhood quality of life. These are:

  • Enhanced pedestrian crossings and sidewalk infrastructure
  • Expanded bicycle infrastructure throughout the corridor
  • A new roundabout at the State Street and Sidney intersection
  • Design priorities focused on pedestrians, transit users, and local access rather than just vehicle traffic

Additionally, your advocacy for the City to adopt a resolution ensuring accountability throughout the entire construction process is welcome, so we can protect our local small businesses from displacement.

I hope you can make it to share your voice.

Forward,

Mary Frances Clardy
State Representative
