Legislative Update - Anoka County Town Hall

Dear Neighbors,

Last week, the legislature was on Easter/Passover break. I used this opportunity to catch up with constituents, attend community events, and prepare for the final stretch of session. As we approach the end of session I’m working hard with my colleagues to make sure that legislation that must pass continues to make progress.

Mental Health Workforce Bill - Getting Much Needed Staff

• This week I presented my bill to boost the pipeline of mental health and substance use disorder workers in Minnesota! 
• It’s based on a model that has gotten great results in Nebraska. I hope that with this legislation we can mimic that success and fill these professional needs.
• By creating a mental health and substance use disorder education center we can create a new workforce pipeline.

Housing Legislation - Fighting for Affordability

• When Greater Minnesota thrives, our whole state does better. That’s why I try to author bills that help the entire state, not always just my district. So I presented a bill to fund the building of workforce housing in Greater Minnesota so workers have a place to live and businesses can grow!
• I also brought forward a bill which would provide grants for infrastructure improvements and maintenance needs of manufactured home parks. With this bill we can stabilize much needed affordable housing across the state.
• I’m committed to pushing for these pieces of legislation and others like them as a way to make life in Minnesota more affordable!

Anoka County Town Hall - We Hope to See you There!

• Join me, Representatives Zack Stephenson, and Kari Rehrauer on Tuesday, April 14th at 7:00pm for an Anoka County town hall!
• We will cover everything happening at the Capitol and answer any questions you may have.
