Dear Neighbors,
We are in the last month of session and there are a lot of things I wish were accomplished by now. We have bills ready to invest in critical infrastructure, save HCMC, fight fraud, increase housing affordability, and so much more. Unfortunately, politics is increasingly coming into play, and it appears that some lawmakers have decided that getting nothing done is their goal.
They are gambling with Minnesotans’ lives and well-being, betting that a Legislature that does not function will help them in an election year. I will continue working hard through the final day to push for legislation that our community desperately needs. There is too much on the line to gamble it all away.

Property Tax Task Force - Optimizing Affordability Legislation
- It’s been about 25 years since we’ve done a comprehensive overhaul of our property tax system here in Minnesota. If you’ve looked at your property tax bill lately, you know it’s overdue.
- That’s why I authored a bill that would create a property tax task force. They would be charged with finding improved efficiencies and analysing how property taxes are distributed amongst all taxpayers, with the hope of increasing fairness.
- This is an early step on our way to making a tax system that works better for more Minnesotans.
